Preview: Rampaging Jotunn

Rampaging Jotunn is a fast-paced 2 player Viking themed board game for the whole family.

Is there such a thing as a fast paced 10 player game?  I hope not.  Fact games are two player and focused.  The theme is tight and the game play isn't what slows you down.  The biggest time block is you own brain, yes that thing 3 feet above your ass.

What we like about this game is that it's 2 player, great art and a theme we've never seen before. We also like the fact that the board has tiles that change with every game.  That really unlocks the layers of game play that bring us back to a game after we've gotten over the "oh wow, a new game" thrill.

Let's take a look at what's in the box... woah, a lot of stuff.

Each player controls 3 villages and 2 armies. Which by itself isn't that remarkable, but you must always keep an eye out for this giant rampaging character known as Jutunn.  Well, you knew the name of the game had to come in here somewhere.

Apparently Jutunn is a giant that was sleeping under the island, and over time the locals have figured out a way to control him in a limited fashion.  Basically, that means you get to aim his rampaging at folks that you don't like and away from you.

Away from you seems to be the key here.  As Jutunn is angry enough that he'll destroy anything in his path, which again, you hope is in the opposite direction from you.

All things considered, this looks to be a lot of fun.

There are a few stretch goals, and although we know the levels, we don't know what they are yet.  The campaigns coming down to the last few days so let's hope we can at least see what we're aiming for. (edit:  They just revealed them, go take a look by clicking the link below)

This game has ben mega-tested and changes made I'm sure.  What we have is a well defined game for 2 people.

Using a mix of 12 land tiles, which leads to a staggering number of different combinations, 4 million, the game will never be the same twice.  Players use cards to influence Jutunn, see how it doesn't say control, but the word influence, so things can get dicey.

If you're reading this, do as we have done and back this game!
